The condensate drain system is a unique component in the air conditioning system. It is an interface between the air-handler drain pan and the building plumbing system, for which no entity accepts responsibility. There is no approved or laboratory-tested-and-listed drain system.
Frozen condensate occurs when condensation and exhaust gases generated from the heating process are discharged outside via a vent pipe and freeze in the cold air. If ice continues to build up, the vent pipe can become blocked, causing the furnace to shut down.
The Omega Pack condensate removal solution is suitable for wall-mounted air conditioning units sized up to 5.6 ton and is intended to fit under the a/c unit.
The unique valve design of V-traps makes them virtually trouble free. They are self-priming; you never have to add water to make them work. A self-sealing column of water, equal in height to the negative pressure in the air conditioner, automatically prevents air from entering the drain trap allowing the condensate to drain freely.
The Si-20 condensate removal solution is designed for installation versatility. Its slim design allows it to fit inside a mini-split air conditioner, alongside a unit (in lineset cover), or within a drop ceiling.
