"Develop
Demand, Success is Deliberate" is the timely theme of HARDI's annual
conference, which will take place at the J.W. Marriott Orlando Grande Lakes in
Orlando from October 6-9. The conference will provide numerous occasions for
socializing, networking, and educational opportunities of interest to all
sectors of HARDI membership. What else does the association have in store?
Heating, Air-conditioning, and Refrigeration Distributors International (HARDI) recently launched a new website, www.developdemand2012.com, representing its 2012 annual conference — “Develop Demand – Success is Deliberate.”

Taking a firm stance during controversial times is nothing new to most people. Whether in your business when it's time to cut expenses, or at home when the teenager is breaking curfew, everyone has been faced with situations that require consistency, and solid decision-making - especially when the decisions are tough ones to make.
Bill Shaw, currently the president of the HARDI Foundation
Board of Trustees, and former Heating, Air-conditioning, and Refrigeration
Distributors International (HARDI) president introduced Mike Workman, professor
emeritus of Industrial Distribution at Texas A&M University during opening
day of the 2011 HARDI Annual Conference. Workman’s topic, “Realizing 2006
Profitability with a 2012 Mindset,” started off with the keynote speaker asking
the questions, “Really?” and “How?”
The party started early and it looks like everybody is going to stay late. Welcome to the inaugural edition of Distribution Center magazine, the official publication of Heating, Airconditioning & Refrigeration Distributors International (HARDI). The party started in Maui in late October when this new magazine was rolled out during the HARDI 2011 Annual Conference.
“Work hard. Play hard. That is the kind of schedule we have
provided for you this year,” said Talbot Gee, executive vice president and COO
of Heating, Air-conditioning and Refrigeration Distributors International
(HARDI) as he opened the 2011 Annual Conference at the Grand Wailea Resort in
the island paradise. Nearly 1,000 members traveled to Maui for the annual
conference.
Ken Perotta
of Crescent Parts & Equipment Co.
in St. Louis, views the HARDI
conference in Maui as an opportunity “to continue to form good, long-lasting
relationships with other wholesalers and vendors, sharing ideas and concerns,
and looking for opportunities within our industry.”
Karen Madonia
of Illco Inc., said of HARDI’s Maui conference, “Like all HARDI events, this
year’s conference will undoubtedly provide us with an opportunity to hear what’s
going on in the industry; to discover new ways to approach the challenges we face
in growing our businesses; to network with friends and colleagues throughout the
country; and to learn how the HARDI staff is continually working to promote our
industry and improve our companies - all while in another beautiful resort.”
For Brent James, an accredited professional in the U.S. Green
Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design program, and
executive vice president of Johnson Air Products in Portland, Ore., one of the
most exciting prospects of the HARDI conference in Maui is the opportunity for
the Sustainable Building Committee to offer “a sample of Hawaiian
sustainability in our presentations this year.”
