Teams across continents marked Rheem’s centennial with events that reflected the company’s core values of innovation, collaboration and the pursuit of excellence, the company said in a press release.
“The Richmond headquarters expansion marks the start of an exciting and long-planned transition to handling more complex assembly and eventual local production of electro-industry technologies and solutions right here in Richmond, Virginia,” said Randy Sadler, president and CEO of Weidmuller USA.

Twenty years ago, JJM Alkaline Technologies designed its first condensate neutralizer that was purpose-built to effectively treat acidic condensate, a byproduct of the condensing technology used in high-efficiency, gas-fired heating appliances, a press release from the company said.
Malco was founded in 1950 by Mark W. Keymer, a young steel supply salesman who invented a pipe crimper for installing sheet metal ductwork used in forced-air heating systems.
The Refrigeration School Inc. was founded in 1965 to support a manufacturing and infrastructure boom. The school offers training in the welding, HVAC, refrigeration, and electrical trades.
Entrants have a chance at prizes that include a 2025 Can Am Defender utility vehicle, a Traeger grill and a $500 Omaha Steaks gift card, and $500 and $250 Malco shopping sprees.
Rheem’s history dates back to 1925, when the Rheem brothers, Richard and Donald, founded the company in California to manufacture steel drums, barrels, and other metal products in a plant that became renowned for its cutting-edge technology.
The company is planning celebrations for its shareholders, associates, customers, and partners that will continue throughout the year, leading up to the official anniversary date of Tuesday, November 12.
