MIAMI, FL — In June of this year, ATP parent company SPX acquired the parent company of Robinair. As of January 1, 2002, both Robinair and ATP will officially operate together under SPX. This merger follows the July 1, 2000 consolidation of SPX companies Amprobe, TIF, and Promax to form one entity known as ATP.

According to Adam Seymour, vice president of business development for ATP, the merger makes marketing easier for distributors. No longer do distributors have to order products and receive technical information from two separate companies. In the past, distributors needed to use separate sales reps and fill out separate purchase orders for ATP and Robinair products. This will allow for the distribution of several products from one company, while the Robinair and ATP product names will remain the same.

Seymour says that the merger will help Robinair to focus more on its hvac tool division. Scott Donnelly will be in charge of sales and marketing for ATP. Donnelly was formerly in charge of sales for the hvac division of Robinair.
