METUS Joins Special Needs Schools of Gwinnett at Groundbreaking
Begins second phase of schools' development plan

SUWANEE, Ga. — Mitsubishi Electric Trane HVAC US (METUS) joined the Special Needs Schools of Gwinnett at the official groundbreaking ceremony for the schools’ new campus on Tuesday, August 27.
The groundbreaking ceremony, held at the site of the new campus (660 Davis Road, Lawrenceville, GA 30046), marked a significant step in METUS’ years-long partnership with the organization. In 2017, the board members of the Mitsubishi Electric Classic golf tournament voted unanimously to make the Special Needs Schools of Gwinnett the primary charity recipient of the funds raised through the annual event. The Special Needs Schools of Gwinnett has received over $158,000 from the Mitsubishi Electric Classic. METUS has also committed to donating much of the HVAC equipment that will go into the schools’ new facilities and has begun coordinating the installation.
“We’re beyond thrilled to witness a new beginning for the Special Needs Schools of Gwinnett,” said Mark Kuntz, CEO for Mitsubishi Electric Trane HVAC US. “We’ve been huge supporters for quite some time and are pleased to help the organization move into an all-new facility that will better support the needs of the students and the dedicated staff that serve them.”
Mark Kuntz, along with several other METUS executives and employees, attended the groundbreaking ceremony on August 27.
