Description: The Mersen Surge Protective Devices are designed to safeguard air conditioning units and furnaces from costly voltage surge events, such as fluctuations in power often generated from inside a home or building, or from an outside source like lightning. Mersen Surge-Trap Surge Protective Devices are renown for delivering the most reliable surge protection technology in the market. Robertshaw offers three Mersen surge protective devices. Model STXH240S05 safeguards residential A/C and furnace equipment, and models STXR480Y05 and STXR480Y05 are used for Commercial and Industrial applications. The devices feature a compact footprint, designed to easily align with AC disconnect switches. An easy to read LED status indicator flashes green to show SPD is on; or the LED will be out, indicating SPD should be replaced. They also feature NEMA 4X non-metallic enclosure for outdoor or indoor use and have an optional audible alarm and remote dry contacts (STXR480Y05A only).
