VERNON, Conn. — The Associated Builders and Contractors of Connecticut (CT ABC) named Emcor Services New England Mechanical (NEMSI) Specialty Contractor of the Year for 2014 at its annual awards dinner. CT ABC also presented NEMSI with an Excellence in Construction Award for its project at the Kent School’s Music & Mattison Auditorium and recognized NEMSI for its 20 years of committed and active membership.
NEMSI is a subsidiary of Emcor Group Inc., a Fortune 500® mechanical and electrical construction, industrial and energy infrastructure, and building services company offering a diverse range of businesses.
The CT ABC is a membership association representing merit shop contractors. Its Specialty Contractor of the Year Award was based on NEMSI’s participation in the organization’s events, committees, and meetings; its overall belief in the merit shop philosophy; and a commitment to its employees’ continuing education training.
CT ABC’s Excellence in Construction Award was presented to NEMSI for its work on the Kent School’s Music & Mattison Auditorium project, where NEMSI was a subcontractor providing full mechanical services for the renovation of music classrooms, practice rooms, and an assembly auditorium. The project created state-of-the-art spaces for the facilities, converting the auditorium into a theater performance space and creating a new cutting-edge recording studio for the music program.
“We’re extremely honored to be named Specialty Contractor of the Year, for CT ABC to recognize our work at the Kent School’s Music & Mattison Auditorium, and their recognition of our 20-year active membership in CT ABC,” said Dana Finnegan, president and CEO, EMCOR Services New England Mechanical. “As a steward for the Connecticut construction industry, we’re proud to be an engaged member and active participant in many of CT ABC’s advocacy and educational activities.”
