EDITORIAL SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

THE ACHR NEWS INVITES YOU TO SUBMIT ARTICLES FROM YOUR COMPANY/FIRM

Every month, thousands of subscribers turn to The ACHR NEWS for updates about the residential, commercial, and institutional HVACR markets. Our online and print coverage provides practical, application-oriented information for contractors and technicians who work with HVACR equipment, plus tips for running a successful contracting business.

INDUSTRY NEWS

Submit news about your company, including personnel changes, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, major contracts, strategic alliances, customer events, grand openings, expansions, charitable giving, awards, and annual conferences to mattjachman@achrnews.com. News items will be considered for our Newsline and FYI columns. Include photos if possible (will increase likelihood of publication).

NEW HVAC PRODUCTS

Product releases are accepted for potential publication. Please send official product name, approx. 100-word description, company name, company phone number, company website, and a photo in JPG or TIFF format at 300 dpi. Products must be directly applicable to HVACR equipment or craftsmanship at 300 dpi to newproducts@achrnews.com.

GUEST COLUMN

We are always seeking contributors to share knowledge and expertise about all things HVACR. Authors may be contractors, association representatives, or employees of consulting firms or manufacturers, though material should remain informative and nonpromotional. Articles should provide insight and advice for HVACR contractors and can focus on trends and best practices, or offer educational value.

Email Senior Managing Editor Maria Taylor at mariataylor@achrnews.com and outline what you wish to cover in the column. We encourage you to submit multiple ideas for comments and direction. If you have an original, exclusive manuscript already written, please send it for review. The outline or manuscript will be reviewed by editorial staff, and you will be contacted regarding the material’s fit for the ACHR NEWS audience.

POINTS TO REMEMBER:

  • It must be an impartial, unbiased, product-neutral discussion on a particular topic or technology aimed at helping HVAC contractors do their jobs and run their businesses more effectively.
  • It can be written as a how-to, a tutorial, a story with a lesson, or a trends/development piece.
  • The article must be non-promotional (i.e., not “salesy”).
  • It is OK to explain technology and how it is used. However, it is not acceptable to extol the virtues of one company or its products or speak negatively about competing manufacturers or their products and technologies.
  • The feature must be exclusive to The ACHR NEWS and not have previously been published or be scheduled for publication elsewhere prior to publication in The ACHR NEWS.
  • Approx. length: 600-900 words. Our editorial team will edit for length and style as needed.
  • Please include a 2-3 sentence author bio and headshot.

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

We welcome feedback on our articles and HVACR-related topics. Please include the title and issue date of the article you are referencing, if applicable.

In order to be considered, letters must include your name, company and job title, and city and state (information will be printed with letter). Maximum 500 words. Please note that letters making false claims or attacking other individuals or companies will not be published. Send letters to kylegargaro@achrnews.com.

CASE STUDIES

Share your success story with our readers. How does your product help your customers solve problems for their clients? The article should describe both the solution and the benefits. Email submissions to mariataylor@achrnews.com.

POINTS TO REMEMBER:

  • Name the product or products used on the job that are applicable to this success story. If there are other HVACR-related products used, we ask that those be included.
  • Describe the problem and how the product was applied to solve it.
  • Discuss any unusual aspects of equipment installation or operation.
  • It is OK to describe why one technology was chosen over another. It is not acceptable to extol the superiority of your product or discuss why a competitor’s product was not selected.
  • Include details of the results that were obtained — for example, statistics showing increased efficiencies or cost savings.
  • Quotes from the contractor and their client should be included in the story, describing the problem, solution, and benefits. The client must be referred to by name (no anonymous clients).
  • Approx. length: 500-1,000 words. ACHR NEWS staff will edit the manuscript for style and length.
  • Please provide several photos of the project for use in the story.

MANUFACTURER’S REPORT

We accept manufacturer-specific articles, written by that manufacturer, for online-only publication. Examples could be a case study, Q&A, or thought leadership piece. There is no set word count, but photos or graphics must be provided. Email submissions to dylankurt@achrnews.com.
