The Chemours Co. announced it is investing in large-scale manufacturing to expand supply of its Opteon™ family of refrigerants. Chemours will invest $230 million over three years to construct a new facility at its Corpus Christi site in Ingleside, Texas, with start-up expected in the third quarter of 2018.

Compressor manufacturer Bitzer has approved the hydrofluoroolefin (HFO) refrigerants R-1234yf and R-1234ze(E) for its CSH and CSW screw compressors. The two alternatives to R-134a have a global warming potential (GWP) of less than 10.

Honeywell announced it has entered into a supply agreement and technology license with an Indian manufacturer to produce Honeywell Solstice® yf, an automobile refrigerant with a global warming potential (GWP) of less than 1.
