ROCKVILLE, Md. - The Mechanical Contractors Association of America (MCAA) and the MCA of Iowa have announced the introduction of MSDS BinderWorksâ„¢, a new subscription Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) management system.

According to MCAA, MSDS BinderWorks was created by mechanical contractors and is designed to enable contractors to:

  • Reduce costs associated with MSDS inventory preparation and maintenance.

  • Save time spent on MSDS program management while ensuring compliance.

  • Keep the compliance process simple and hassle-free.

  • Have both electronic inventories and hard copy binders available.

To simplify the search for industry-specific MSDSs, the products being used by mechanical contractors and suppliers were inspected and documented. The end result is a focused, industry-specific database comprised of over 2,000 products, says the association. A partnership with MSDSonlineâ„¢ also gives MSDS BinderWorks subscribers access to that database, which contains more than a million additional MSDSs.

Subscribers have the capability to create unlimited custom MSDS inventories via the Internet. The customized electronic inventory can be sent to a printing company, Matt Parrott and Sons, for printing and delivery, says MCAA.

MSDS BinderWorks also features a "stay organized" indexing system. Each MSDS in the industry-specific database is assigned a control number that appears in the upper right-hand corner. This number allows subscribers to maintain organized binders despite the regular insertion of MSDSs.

Annual subscriptions to MSDS BinderWorks are $425 for MCAA and MCA affiliated association members, $650 for nonmembers. There is an extra charge for hard copy binders based on the size of the custom MSDS inventory. More information is available online at and, or by calling 515-334-2616.
