Learning from their father, who was a fire prevention and lighting services provider, Raymond and Joseph Kishk knew they would continue their family’s 30-year service tradition, so they started their own heating and cooling company nine years ago and haven’t looked back.
“Avanti.” In Italian, the word means “forward.” And, the term serves as a fitting description for 29-year-old Anthony Tosco’s Collegeville, Pennsylvania-based Avanti Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling Inc.
Installing all the refrigeration and freezer cases, walk-in freezers and coolers, food preparation stations, piping, compressors, and controls that a modern grocery store requires was no easy task in a 107-year-old building.
While 80 years is quite a milestone, it’s one the Pittsburgh-based service contractor hasn’t had time to celebrate yet, as most of the crew’s time has been spent moving into a new location this past December after outgrowing its previous space.
The company has thrived under Bryan’s leadership and was on track to earn $12 million to $15 million in 2014. Precision currently has 68 employees, 52 vehicles in its fleet, and averages 120 calls per day.
