The 13-SEER Latitude™ heat pump has a rating of over 13 SEER and up to 9.0 HSPF. When matched with one of the company's compatible variable-speed air handlers or gas furnaces, the heat pump can achieve efficiency levels above 14 SEER and up to 9.5 HSPF. Properly matched equipment might also be Energy Star®-qualified. The unit features a demand defrost system that cycles the unit into defrost mode only when needed, reducing wear and tear and extending the life of the unit. A high-pressure relief valve and solid core filter-drier extend the life of the compressor. Operating sounds are minimized through the heat pump's upward discharge airflow, a rigid top panel that isolates motor sounds, and cushioned compressor mounts.
