The new hand-held TIF8600 carbon dioxide (CO2) monitor measures temperature, humidity, and recommended ASHRAE ventilation rates (ANSI/ASHRAE 62-1989). The patented dual-beam Absorption Infraredâ„¢ gas sensor ensures long-term stability and durability, the company says. The monitor's large digital display with dual readings displays CO2 readings from 0 to 10,000 ppm and either ventilation rates in cfm per person or temperature in degrees Fahrenheit/Celsius. Four AA batteries provide up to 80 hours of continuous operation, the manufacturer states. The unit comes with an external AC power adapter and a flip-out stand for desktop monitoring. The TIF8600D kit contains the CO2 monitor and a data logger. The monitor can be used to identify energy saving opportunities, verify indoor air quality complaints, locate the presence of combustion fumes generated from vehicles and appliances, and other CO2 applications.
