OTTAWA -The Continental Automated Buildings Association (CABA) will host the XML Symposium in Anaheim on Jan. 27, 2004, in conjunction with the International Air-Conditioning, Heating, Refrigerating Exposition (AHR Expo) and the winter meeting of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE). The event will be co-produced by Clasma Inc., headquartered in Irving, Texas.

The symposium is a day-long introduction to integrated and intelligent buildings with a specific focus on the HVAC industry. The subject matter concerns XML and Web Services, which are used by the IT community and many other industry groups to leverage the Internet as a connectivity and automation vehicle. According to CABA, these technologies can enable the convergence of building systems and the IT infrastructure.
