New ‘Hot’ Heat Pump For Northern Climates
York International recently announced that its “TS Hot” heat pump will offer “exceptional efficiency and unmatched comfort from high heating discharge temperatures.” The air-to-air heat pump could well be a good fit for northern markets, the company says.
The E4TS, which incorporates Bristol’s TS™ compressor technology, is said to offer heating efficiencies up to 9.2 HSPF and cooling efficiencies ranging from 15.0 to 15.7 SEER on from 2.5- through 4-ton capacities. (The entire line has models up to 5 tons.)
The company said the new Stealth™ heat pump can deliver heating discharge temperatures up to 113 degrees F without auxiliary electric backup heat. The higher discharge temperatures should help reduce complaints of draft that are common to heat pump installations. The increased comfort will be assisted by the new unit’s Comfort Enhancer® control system, which helps “maximize discharge temperatures while maintaining thermostat settings,” and the TS compressor, whose two-stage capability offers improved air distribution.
The company said the E4TS is part of the its spring promotion, carrying a $600 consumer rebate and “up to a $75 dealer spiff.”
