This new inorganic coating is corrosion-proof and increases the energy efficiency of a/c systems, chillers, and cooling towers, says the company. Called AD30, the product is based on a patent for glass-based (silica) coatings. When applied to aluminum, copper, and steel, the coating molecularly welds to the metal, forming a permanent seal against surface corrosion, the company says. Compared to common organic coatings, the product’s glass-like properties provide better heat exchange, increase cooling output, and reduce energy consumption, says the company.
