KENILWORTH, N.J. — Meyer & Depew Co., a community-based HVAC company serving Central and Northern New Jersey for 70 years, recently presented the Sharing Network Foundation with a check for $29,400. The foundation supports the work of the NJ Sharing Network, a nonprofit committed to saving lives through organ and tissue donation and transplantation.

A year ago, Meyer & Depew pledged to donate a portion of the proceeds from every new residential heating and cooling system installation to the foundation through the HVAC company’s Installation Donation program. The donation of $29,400 is the realization of that pledge. Meyer & Depew has made the same commitment for 2023.

“Organ donation is very personal for me,” Meyer & Depew president Bobby Ring said in a press release. “I donated one of my kidneys to my sister, Kathleen, in 1984. That decision helped extend Kathleen’s life. Meyer & Depew is proud to support the Sharing Network Foundation’s efforts to advance research and educate the public about organ and tissue donation.”

More than 4,000 New Jersey residents are waiting for a life-saving organ transplant or tissue donation. Unfortunately, 17 people die each day nationwide while waiting for a transplant. The good news is that a single organ and tissue donor can save eight lives and enhance the lives of more than 75 others.

Staffed by a team of more than 200, the NJ Sharing Network works to register organ and tissue donors, match donors with those in need, provide educational programs and resources, support donor families, and honor the legacy of those who have given the gift of life.

“Each day, our team is driven by a shared mission to make families feel more comfortable and secure at home,” Ring said. “Knowing that our work also benefits the Sharing Network Foundation and can potentially save lives is extremely gratifying and rewarding. We encourage individuals, organizations, and communities across New Jersey to support this wonderful organization.”
