George “Butch” Welsch, the 74-year-old owner of the St. Louis-based Welsch Heating & Cooling Co., was recently honored as the ACCA 2016 Residential Contractor of the Year during the ACCA 2016 conference in Charlotte, North Carolina.
The mechanical systems contractor offers large-scale and specialty mechanical construction project management, engineering and design-build services, mechanical system service, controls technology, off-site construction, 24/7 servicing, modular fabrication, and virtual building systems (VBS).
With nothing more than his plumbing license and a promise to his wife that things would be better, Alan O’Neill packed up his family, left Ireland, landed in Texas, and eventually started Abacus Plumbing & Air Conditioning in Houston.
