In previous issues of The News, electric expansion valves (EEVs) were introduced and divided into four types: pulse, analog, heat motor, and step motor. The operation of each is unique, and actual drive circuitry for each cannot be interchanged with any other type.
The algorithm, or set of instructions, used to control any EEV will be similar and can be adapted for the different valves.
