The new custom-designed icemaker controller combines two mechanical thermostats, two timer relays, and three contactors into a single unit that can be programmed in the field or on the production floor. According to the manufacturer, the production floor programmability allows a single custom icemaker controller unit to be configured as needed on the manufacturing line to meet the OEM’s varying model performance requirements. The company says that by combining thermostats, timer relays, and contactors, the unit has a diagnostic capability that’s unavailable to standalone components.
