OnPoint Provides Software Products and Consulting Services to Construction and Service Companies
SEATTLE — Dexter + Chaney, provider of Spectrum® Construction Software, has announced a partnership agreement with OnPoint Software Consulting Inc. to resell Spectrum in Missouri, Oklahoma, and Arkansas, as well as the surrounding metro areas of Kansas City and St. Louis. OnPoint, founded in 1989 by Mike Pieczynski, CPA, provides software products and consulting services to the construction industry.
“We’re excited to have Mike and OnPoint on board as one of our strategic business partners,” said John Chaney, Dexter + Chaney’s CEO and co-founder. “Mike is very experienced in industry best practices and construction software. He has years of experience working with hundreds of clients in the Midwest and will be a tremendous advocate for Dexter + Chaney in that market.”
Pieczynski brings more than 25 years’ experience working with construction and service companies, plus real estate and corporate owner/developers, including five years as a partner in a St. Louis CPA firm and nearly 20 years as a key contractor to the Sage Timberline Professional Services Group, where he was instrumental in helping clients implement and maintain software. Pieczynski said that roughly four years ago he began looking for new opportunities with software companies that embraced new technology, and liked what he saw in Dexter + Chaney.
“It didn’t take us long to figure out that Dexter + Chaney was really leading the technology charge. Between the ownership, the people, their investment in technology, and the Spectrum product itself, it was clear to me that their focus is on long-term growth and ongoing investment and improvement,” Pieczynski said. “Seeing how the ownership of the company is personally involved in product development and seeing how they work with their clients to help continuously improve Spectrum, we knew we had found a software partner that was in line with OnPoint’s own way of doing business.”
Pieczynski added that this client-centered focus is especially important in the Midwest states he will be serving. “Sometimes with regard to implementation and support of technology, construction clients can feel somewhat abandoned. We want to become technology partners with these companies, strive to understand their business and their needs, and work directly with them when they need us to deliver the best experiences possible.”
The recent recession, Pieczynski said, was an eye-opening experience for many contractors that realized their companies’ bottom lines can suffer greatly without the right oversight and proper tools to manage their business. Many didn’t understand what their margin slides were, or didn’t know what they had to do to effectively account for their overhead and profit.
