The annual Food Marketing Institute Energy & Store Development Conference takes place Sept. 7-10 at the Union Station Hotel in downtown St. Louis.

The focus of the annual event is on energy efficiency and conservation as well as store design and merchandising for the food retail industry. There will be presentations and workshops on efficiency and design as well as ideas to help reduce costs and improve sustainability. Tours of supermarkets are planned and there will be manufacturer-retail exchanges with exhibits from more than 90 suppliers of energy management, HVAC, refrigeration, design, construction, and lighting systems.
