The new unit is expected to challenge the status quo for energy efficiency at almost double the ASHRAE 90.1 minimum standard. It will be the industry’s most energy efficient unit available, with unbeatable part-load efficiencies and superior energy savings, the manufacturer says. It is the first official submission to a rooftop unit challenge initiated by the U.S. Department of Energy to develop the next generation of high-efficiency air conditioners for commercial buildings.
