MADISON, Wis. - Aprilaire, working with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), has announced a voluntary recall of Aprilaire Model 5000 electronic air cleaners.
The company has determined that the plastic inner housing and chipboard edge in the filter media of the Model 5000 may pose a fire hazard. According to the CPSC, parent company Research Products Corp. has received six reports of fires. No injuries were reported.
