Spot coolers is acquired by GE Power Systems

SCHENECTADY, NY — GE Power Systems announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to purchase Spot Coolers of Miami Inc., a provider of rental air conditioning and power generation services in South Florida that specializes in the commercial sector and special events.

Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

The move accelerates the growth of the GE Energy Rentals unit of GE Power Systems, which was launched last year in response to growing demand for distributed temporary power and temperature control services.

The company recently completely the acquisition of Showpower, a California-based energy rental business.

“Strategic acquisitions, product diversification, and the addition of new geographic locations play a key role in our customer-focused growth plan, “ stated Robert L. Nardelli, president and ceo of GE Power Systems.
