Refron Launches 'Enhanced' Customer Web Site

LONG ISLAND CITY, N.Y. — Refron Inc., a supplier of refrigerant gases, has announced the launch of its redesigned and “enhanced” Web site. Under development for the past 12 months, the new Web site at www.refron.com has features which the company feels will be helpful to customers as well as to the general refrigerant-aware public.

Available to the public is a “What’s New” section of late-breaking and important industry news, and access to technical information via the “InfoCenter” section, including technical data, product brochures, and industry links. A feature of the InfoCenter is the ability to view online MSDS documents for any refrigerant or manufacturer, or to send MSDS documents to anyone via e-mail.

“This function alone will be a big help to many of our corporate customers who are concerned with OSHA and DOT compliance,” said Jay Kestenbaum, president of Refron. “They can now easily access copies of these important mandated safety documents or forward them electronically to all their branch offices.”

For customers, a special password-protected “DataCenter” section allows them to see the status of any orders in progress, track open and paid invoices, analyze their past purchasing history and refrigerant usage patterns, submit requests for quotes on special needs, or contact their sales representatives electronically. In addition, customers who send their used refrigerants back to Refron for reclamation or for “banking” can now see the status of their returns, their laboratory test results, and their banking withdrawals and deposits.

“Customers have always wanted to know as quickly as possible what happens with their valuable used refrigerants,” remarked Fran Besdin, reclamation services manager, “and now they can have all that information at their fingertips instantaneously.”

“Our customers have told us that accurate and timely information provides them with a competitive edge in the marketplace” added Kestenbaum, “and through [our Web site] we are happy to provide them with a unique set of online tools and resources that are the best of their kind in our industry.”
