May 29, 2003: Honeywell, American Lung Association To Partner On IAQ

ST. PAUL, Minn. — A new, nationwide partnership has been announced by the American Lung Association and Honeywell to help consumers and homebuilders learn about indoor air quality and how to create cleaner home air.

Honeywell Home and Environmental Controls Solutions will partner with the St. Paul-based American Lung Association Health House® program, a 10-year effort designed to raise the standard for cleaner indoor environments through builder and consumer education.

The partnership combines Health House's public awareness outreach, including demonstration homes, with Honeywell's expertise in whole-house heating, cooling, and ventilation controls and systems that manage indoor air quality.

"The American Lung Association has been at the forefront of educating people about the importance of cleaner indoor air for decades," said John Kirkwood, president and CEO of the American Lung Association. "Partners like Honeywell help continue this important education."

Tim Kensok, director of Honeywell's Indoor Air Quality Products group, said, "Working alongside the American Lung Association is a great opportunity to help consumers be as informed as possible about the quality of indoor air and their options for managing and improving that environment. We're proud to be part of the Health House effort to help consumers and homebuilders make indoor air cleaner."
