Sales by HARDI distributors declined by 0.5% during August 2025.

Nearly a third of all sales by wholesale distributors in 2022 were completed via e-commerce, but the HVACR segment of wholesale distribution lags behind wholesalers in general when it comes to e-commerce, according to a new report from Heating, Air conditioning & Refrigeration Distributors International (HARDI).

Two crises in five years exposed the same gap: distributors and suppliers aren’t forecasting together.

The annual sales growth rate for the HARDI distributors surveyed has been in the range of 3.3% to 4.3% this year.
