This spring-closing oil drain valve allows for draining oil from an ammonia refrigeration system while the system is still operating, says the company. The valve is available in 1/2- and 3/4-in. sizes with threaded connections. The unit features an all-steel body, non-asbestos packing and gaskets, neoprene seat disc, and zinc-chromate finish. The valve must be used in series with a hand shut-off valve connected to the inlet side. A spring-loaded seat in the valve will open and relieve pressure on the inlet side at approximately 290 psi, the company says.
