Gargaro's World: Does God Grade on a Curve?

I will be the first to admit that I am not a perfect Catholic. I am not even a good one, for that matter. I gladly enjoy a hamburger on Fridays during Lent, choose the Fox NFL Sunday pregame show over mass, and only call out to Jesus when I stub my toe trying to walk to the bathroom in the middle of the night.

So those reasons, among others, mean it might be an uphill battle for me to spend eternity upstairs rather than downstairs. No, don’t worry about me. I heard it is a dry heat. But I hope when my number is up, I end up at the pearly gates for Judgment Day surrounded by these lowlife thieves that are stealing HVAC equipment from churches. My theory is that God grades on a curve - hey, that is how I passed chemistry in high school. Just in the past couple of weeks the Light House Gospel Center in Dallas had a $20,000 heating and air conditioning unit stolen, the Vision of Christ Church was one of 20 churches in Indianapolis since Jan. 1 to have an air conditioning unit stolen, and Friendship Baptist Mission church in Alaska twice had heating fuel stolen.

Now with copper prices continuing to climb, obviously this is a big issue that happens all around the country. But you would think the criminals would draw a line at ripping off churches. I mean, isn’t it suppose to be the other way around - the churches take our money? Any contractors out there that have experienced this type of crime?
