Chiller Service Program Debuts

WASHINGTON, DC — Trane has introduced a performance-based service program for its new chiller technology, designed to keep systems operating at their highest efficiency and lowest emissions level on a sustained basis.

Announced at the Earth Technologies Forum here, the new EarthWise™ service agreement will be offered with the company’s new S-Series EarthWise CenTraVac™ chiller. The chiller will be launched in 2003 (The News, “Better Cooling Via Improved Chillers,” April 8, 2002, pg. 1).

With this service program, Trane’s performance verification engineers will monitor a network of microprocessor-based controls and sensors to ensure that the chiller performs to the owner’s expectations for comfort, reliability, and efficiency.

When linked with a Tracer™ Summit building management system, the chiller’s controls will monitor the entire system’s performance. The data will be sent to Trane’s Center of Performance Assurance. There, engineers analyze the data and verify proper levels of performance.

When a deviation is identified, the local Trane office is advised of the situation and its potential solutions. The local office will work with the customer to correct the situation.
