I believe HVACR technicians are entitled to live as well as customers are entitled to live. Do you? And, please, don't give me the stock "Yes!" answer. I mean, do you really believe it?

The challenge in dealing with the topic of refrigerants is that they are immersed in a massive array of regulations that span a wide range of governmental bodies from local to international and an equally wide range of agencies.

The topic is service technicians selling replacement equipment. Others have had their say. Now it's my turn. I don't like the idea.

May all - or at least the majority - of the following wishes become reality for you in 2004.

Customers Come First I read with interest and dumbstruck fascination the insights of Mr. Greer regarding paying technicians straight commissions on repairs and service ["Paying Techs Straight Commission," Nov. 10].

Some days I'm really excited to be in this business. One reason is because we do a good job of providing service. Another reason is because I see so many instances of poor service by non-caring employees at other companies.
