The Edge™ distributed system is designed to accommodate the use of higher-horsepower (hp) compressors (up to 13 hp for scrolls, 9 hp for reciprocating compressors). This allows a single distributed system to provide refrigeration for a larger number of display cases, reducing the time and expense associated with installation and maintenance. Flexible by design, the Edge can be configured with fewer, larger compressors to conserve space in cramped environments. The maintenance-friendly enclosure incorporates lift-assist hinged tops and removable front panels. According to the company, the roomier enclosure on the distributed system allows for factory installation of options that, traditionally, have to be field-installed outside of the enclosure; the cabinet design simplifies site installation, controlling costs, and safeguarding against leaks that might result from improper field installation.
