The company has expanded its line of water-cooled screw chillers with a new family of smaller models, in capacities from 90 to 215 tons of refrigeration (TR). The new YCWS models feature the same stepless capacity design as its larger units, says the company. The chillers use a direct-drive, twin-rotor, semi-hermetic screw compressor that continuously modulates from 100% to 10% capacity to match building loads and minimize energy use, the company says. The resulting coefficient of performance (COP), from 4.5 to 5.0, is the highest in its category, says the manufacturer.
