WINNIPEG, Manitoba - Westech Energy Training Center announced it will offer a “Preparation for 5th Class Power Engineering” course. With the continuing need for power engineers and skilled tradespeople in today’s fast-paced and ever-changing industry, said Westech, power engineering provides individuals with good opportunities for life-long careers with good pay.

The course, which will begin Jan. 8, 2011, will be taught by D. Brian Baker and will primarily be formatted through lecture and assignments. It will cover: Act & Regulations, Safety, Administration, Fundamentals, Compressors, Controls and Instrumentation, Condensers and Cooling Towers, Evaporators and Cooling Coils, Operation and Maintenance, Election, Air Conditioning, Mathematics and Science, and Practical Experience.

The course has been accredited by the Manitoba Department of Labor, Mechanical, and Engineering.
