A patented new sensor measures the flow of fluid in pipes or any conductors and passageways, the company says. The Verabar® velocity-averaging, insert sensor is for gas, liquid, and steam flow measurement applications. The bullet-shaped sensor design with leading edge surface conditioning (roughening) is said to lower drag and extend range. Accuracy and reliability are improved by eliminating the clogging of low-pressure ports, says the company. Accuracy is ±0.5% and repeatability is ±0.1%.
