EMD Series refrigerated com-pressed air driers can sense dewpoint changes in varying flow conditions, and automatically compensate to provide a consistently low dewpoint. The cycling refrigeration circuit is automatically regulated by the EMD controller, which monitors dewpoint by measuring the compressed air temperature. When this temperature reaches or goes below the setpoint, the controller signals the unloader to open, which allows the compressor to run with up to a 50% reduction in energy use, says the manufacturer. Each model has standard features that include a digital dewpoint readout, an electric drain with panel-mounted controls, and an adjustable dewpoint control.
