HARTFORD, CT — United Technol-ogies Corp (UTC) announced the signing of an agreement to purchase Specialty Equipment Companies, Inc. (SEC), a manufacturer of refrigeration equipment and soft-serve ice cream and frozen dessert dispensers, based in Aurora, IL, for $30.50 per share in cash.

Upon completion of the purchase, SEC will be integrated into UTC’s Carrier Corp.
