PISCATAWAY, N.J. - According to Trane, energy is the single largest operating expense and accounts for more than $100 billion in expenses for commercial buildings each year. With this in mind, the manufacturer has set out to help building owners and developers take the first step in lowering energy costs using Trane’s latest HVAC system designs - EarthWise systems. These systems provide several business and environmental benefits, including higher energy efficiency, reduced carbon emissions, enhanced comfort, and reduced first cost and operating expenses, said the company.

In accordance with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s “Responsible Use” policy, Trane’s EarthWise systems cost effectively drive energy efficiency to its highest levels, while driving emissions to their lowest levels, said the company. Furthermore, the systems yield sustainable environmental and financial results over the lifetime of a building.

“The formula behind these systems is simple: Use colder air and smaller ductwork for the best results for your building,” said Gene Smithart, Trane’s director of Systems and Solutions.

“Trane’s EarthWise systems are the most energy-efficient available today for large commercial buildings and are up to 13.5 percent more energy efficient than the next available option. These results can produce outstanding financial results for the owner. They also offer opportunities to obtain Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) points.”
