PONTE VEDRA, Fla. - The Chiller Systems Group held its fall meeting Oct. 6-7. It was hosted by ThermaServe Inc., Jacksonville, Fla., and attended by 65 members representing independent contractors from all over the United States. The group welcomed new members John J. Kirlin Mechanical Services, Rockville, Md.; Cortez Commercial Systems, Oneco, Fla.; Nexgen Mechanical Inc., Warwick, R.I.; Travers Mechanical Service, Rio Rancho, N.M.; and Texas Chiller Systems, San Antonio.

The meeting included presentations by York International, McQuay International, Belzona Industrial Coatings, CFC Refimax Refrigerant Services, Reftec International, and Invisible Service Technician on new products and services. Gil Avery, P.E., made a presentation about improving the efficiency of chilled water plants, and member Dave Velander of the Owens Companies, Minneapolis, gave a presentation recognizing and justifying chiller replacement projects. Technical training classes were also discussed and scheduled for the upcoming months.
