Sears Introduces Enhanced Home Services

HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL — Sears HomeCentral® has introduced an enhanced home services section of www.sears.com to assist homeowners. The offering expands upon the existing capability of scheduling and tracking in-home product repairs online. Homeowners may go to the website to verify, by zip code, local service availability for specific home improvements. Also, customers may go onto sears.com to view the status of products dropped off for repair at service centers. "This is the most recent example of Sears enhancing the customer experience for home services through Web-based technology," said Mark Good, president of Sears product repair services. Here is an example of what homeowners can find on the updated site:
  • Enter zip code to verify local availability for services like Trane heating and cooling systems, and plumbing and electrical services. (For some zip codes, phone numbers are posted for emergency plumbing and electrical services.)
  • Find tips for services, such as "The most important thing to know about the plumbing in your home is the location of the main shutoff valve; and obtain insights on selecting a repair specialist or home improvement contractor .”
  • Sears, Roebuck and Co. is a retailer of apparel, home, and automotive products and services, with annual revenue of more than $40 billion. The company serves families throughout the country through approximately 860 department stores, more than 2,100 specialized retail locations, and a variety of online offerings accessible through the company's website, www.sears.com.
