Fiber-free duct liner provides acoustical and thermal insulation for residential and commercial ductwork. The material is com-posed of seven layers: foil, polyethylene, bubble, polyethylene, bubble, polyethylene, and foil. This 5/16-in. thick duct liner is thin, lightweight, clean, and tough, says the company. According to the manufacturer, application of this product eliminates fiberglass in the airstream and reduces unwanted equipment noise while reducing ducts’ heat loss or gain, thus improving operating efficiency. The liner resists mold and mildew and is environmentally friendly, the company states.
