STONEY CREEK, Ontario - Effective Jan. 20, 2011, Mueller Flow Control changed its name to FLOCOR Inc.
“Our name may be new,” said Kevin Fullan, vice president and general manager, “but our management team and employees remain firmly in place. Our warehouse and office locations, phone numbers, and contact people also stay the same.”
The name change follows a requirement of the ownership change one year ago when Mueller Flow Control became 100 percent Canadian owned. In January 2010, Flocor was acquired by wholesale distributor Deschenes Group Inc.
The original roots of the company date back to 1850. For many years, it was known as Grinnell, then Mueller Flow Control. The new name celebrates the Mueller heritage while providing the company a fresh look.
“Our new tagline, ‘The Piping Products People,’ says everything about us,” Fullan said. “It highlights our special combination of people-oriented service, expertise, and product range, including commercial, industrial, waterworks, fire-protection, and specialty piping.”
