May 6, 2005: Carrier Offers Automatic Home Standby Generator

INDIANAPOLIS - Carrier Corp. has introduced its new Automatic Home Standby Generator, offering homeowners the ability to restore power and maintain a relatively normal routine during power outages. Unlike portable generators that must be refilled with gas, using up to 400 gallons over a two-week span, the Automatic Home Standby Generator is powered by natural or LP gas and is permanently fixed outside the home, says Carrier. When power outages occur, the system automatically senses loss of electricity and restores power to the selected circuits in about 30 seconds.

The Carrier generator enables the continuous operation of vital equipment in the home, powering up to 12 circuits, including heating and cooling equipment, refrigerators and freezers, and more.

"Short and long-term power outages occur often due to severe weather and overloaded power grids," said Sylvia Kainz, director brand marketing, Carrier North America Residential Sales and Marketing. "With the Automatic Home Standby Generator, Carrier offers a total solution to home comfort systems at an affordable price and gives homeowners peace of mind in the event of a power outage."

This new product not only benefits the homeowner, it also provides dealer benefits as well, says Carrier.
