March 19, 2004: MCAA Announces Advanced Institute For Project Management

ROCKVILLE, Md. - The Mechanical Contractors Association of America (MCAA) has announced the addition of the Advanced Institute for Project Management (AIPM) to its educational offerings. Developed in response to requests from contractors who sent their project managers to MCAA's Institute for Project Management (IPM), the new course will offer advanced level strategies, says the association. The first AIPM course will be held October 10-15, 2004.

According to MCAA, by learning and practicing the soft skills needed to establish and maintain long-term business relationships and successfully resolve project-related conflicts, students will be better prepared to enhance their companies' bottom lines. Students also will receive advanced level training on two of the hard skills needed to maximize companies' profits-productivity and change order management, says MCAA.

The training will be provided by some of the most experienced mechanical contractors in the nation, and other experts recognized for their knowledge and success in teaching their subjects, the association says.

The course provides five days (40-plus contact hours) of study. Like the IPM, the AIPM will be held at the University of Texas at Austin.

For more information, visit www.mcaa.org/ipm or contact Beth Miller at 800-556-3653 or bmiller@mcaa.org.
