Mar. 26, 2002: BP Energy Selects Internet-Based Information Technology To Control Costs

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK — BP Energy, a division of one of the world's largest energy companies, has selected Automated Energy Inc.'s Internet-based energy information technology and load profile services to better control costs and reduce risk at several facilities they provide power to throughout Texas.

The BP Energy facilities will use Automated Energy's Load Profile service to monitor and manage energy consumption and power quality, as well as identify cost savings system wide. The Load Profile software's rate tariff function and data mining tools will also be used to pursue energy-related cost reductions.

The technology will allow BP Energy, and it's contracted customers, to collect and manage load profile information, and review up-to-date energy consumption data at any time, for any location via the Internet, says Automated Energy.

Under the agreement, Automated Energy will monitor BP refineries, pipeline facilities, and chemical plants owned and operated under the BP Amoco name, as well as BASF manufacturing facilities that have contracted with BP for their power needs in the recently opened electricity markets in Texas.
