Lennox Industries Inc.: MOISTURE REMOVAL SYSTEM

The Humiditrol® dehumidification system removes moisture based on relative humidity levels, not the thermostat, the manufacturer states. A humidity sensor starts the dehumidification cycle as long as there is no demand for heating or cooling; this provides optimal humidity control on light sensible load days. The refrigeration system has an optional condenser coil added to it that supplies heat to the cool, dry air leaving the evaporator coil, reheating it to near the return temperature. Using the hot discharge gas (200 to 250 degrees F) from the compressor maximizes the available reheat from the refrigeration system and minimizes its sensible cooling capability, says the company. The humidity sensor can be located in the room adjacent to the zone temperature sensor or in the return air duct. It is an option for most of the units in the L Series® rooftop product line.
