June 22, 2010: ServiceMagic and Resource Nation Partner to Expand Their Offerings

SAN DIEGO - ServiceMagic and Resource Nation, two leaders in online lead generation, announced that they have partnered to enable businesses to find a more extensive mix of services in one place. ServiceMagic is a leading website connecting homeowners and businesses with service contractors. Resource Nation is an online marketplace for businesses to find pre-screened vendors in over 100 products and services such as time and attendance systems and VoIP phone systems. With the new relationship, ResourceNation.com can now also connect businesses with contractors providing HVAC and other services.

“It is a natural fit for us to cross promote our services to ServiceMagic’s network of contractors and vice versa. Contractors need to process credit cards just like business buyers need landscaping for their offices,” said Ryan Peddycord, CEO of Resource Nation.

The relationship allows vendors and contractors participating in the Resource Nation and ServiceMagic networks to connect with more businesses actively looking to make a purchase. “We approached Resource Nation because it was a natural fit and they have a great reputation in the industry, which is important to us. Both companies provide a quality service and our offerings complement each other’s audience,” said Adam Burrows, senior director of business development at ServiceMagic.

Both ServiceMagic and Resource Nation conduct a screening process with vendors as they join their respective networks. For ServiceMagic, contractors go through an extensive pre-screening process which includes verification of licensing, insurance, and business filing in addition to a criminal and civil background check. With Resource Nation, a search is done using a third party credit check through Experian. If a report is available for the vendor, those vendors will have a “prescreened” mark next to their contact information.
