June 22, 2004: Carrier Implements Improved Dealer/Distributor Extranet

CHICAGO - Click Commerce Inc. has announced that Carrier Corporation has implemented Click Commerce software to improve its dealer/distributor extranet, which provides dealers and distributors access to real-time information through a self-service portal.

According to Click Commerce, Carrier has deployed the software as its next generation solution to accommodate the growing number of users accessing its HVAC Partners extranet, which supports Carrier distributors and dealers. The new site provides a single source for Carrier's marketing, product, and service-related information, while simultaneously permitting access to selected business applications.

Carrier has collaborated with its partners and customers via the Internet since 1999. With the growing number of dealers and distributors using Carrier's existing in-house application, there was a need to upgrade the application to a new platform that would accommodate system growth, improve scalability and performance, and reduce cycle time when launching new business processes and programs. After assessing available options, Carrier turned to Click Commerce.

"The Click Commerce solution provides a solid platform which enables Carrier to deliver superior Internet tools to help our partners and customers be more successful in the marketplace," said Chuck Balawajder, chief information officer for Carrier.
