“Mold and Moisture Control” will provide an engineer’s perspective on what mold is and an explanation of why it is a problem and a risk for building owners and contractors.
Dennis Stanke, staff applications engineer for The Trane Company, will outline practical approaches to preventing mold and recommendations on what building owners should do if they have it. Contractors will also learn the basics of fungi and bacteria, why moisture control is crucial to controlling mold, and practical ways to control moisture inside buildings.
“Mold Litigation: A Prevention Plan” will examine the extent of the mold problem and identify bid and contract options to minimize or eliminate a contractor’s potential liability. Provided by Tyler Kannon and Jim Berriatua of Gallagher Construction Services, this session will also cover design materials, building maintenance, employee training, and conclude with recommendations for developing a mold prevention program.
